IESC meet in Canberra

The Independent Expert Scientific Committee will hold it’s monthly meeting in Canberra on May 27-28.

Federal Minister for the Environment, Tony Burke established the IESC to address community concerns regarding Coal Seam Gas and Large Coal Mining Developments.

Liaison Officer to the IESC, Assistant Director Ross McKinney says the meeting will consider four submitted projects and their potential impact on ground and surface resources.

“After considering evaluating the projects, the committee will provide advice to the Minister as the Regulator who makes the decision as to whether a project will be approved with conditions or rejected,” Mr McKinney said.
